The publication fee for KMUJ is already substantially subsidized and is comparatively lower than that of many peer journals in Pakistan and the region. Nevertheless, KMUJ may grant full or partial waivers of article processing and publication charges on a case-by-case basis.

Priority for waivers is given to undergraduate medical students from Pakistan and to authors from low-income countries, as classified under the WHO–HINARI Group A list.

Eligible authors are required to submit a formal waiver request, including a clear justification, at the time of manuscript submission. Requests should be sent to kmuj@kmu.edu.pk, with a copy to editorkmuj@kmu.edu.pk.

Note: The journal offers a limited number of waivers at any given time. During periods of high demand, it may not be possible to approve all waiver requests.
